In part, Performance and Elite Sport Scholarships 2026-2027 are international student scholarships. The scholarships can be taken up in both undergraduate and master studies at the Cardiff Metropolitan University. The scholarships will offer discounts of up to £5,000 on their program tuition and accessibility to good facilities.
Elite Sport Scholar Award is aimed at undergraduate, postgraduate and International students who have excelled in sport (performance and or coaching). The award is awarded on academic merit and sporting performances, and can be applied to by students who fit the required tasks set.

Eligibility Requirement of Elite Sport Scholar Award.
These are the points that should be taken into account to be eligible to Elite Sport Scholar Award:
- Required Language: English
- Eligibility Countries:All countries in the world.
In order to be eligible to receive a scholarship, the athletes must:
- be studying, or going to study at Cardiff Metropolitan University (any course).
- is a member of a known British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) sport and is involved in the University’s BUCs goals.
- be playing at international level, or need to be playing to top level in their sport (e.g. national/international/professional).
- be suggested by their NGB coach and/or coach in their sport with University.
- The scholarship will require the students to represent Cardiff Met in the BUCS competition.
- The students will be required to act as ambassadors of the Cardiff met at open events and engage in promotion and marketing of the School of Sport and Health Science. Otherwise, it may lead to the loss of scholarship.
- To have the catering or general campus allowance processed you must be a full-time student in Cardiff Metropolitan University and have your Student ID Card.
- The award in years 2 and 3 will be paid on the basis of successful advancement on the following year of study.
- The reward will be paid in the years 2 and 3 based on the progress of your level of sporting progress that will be determined by the Performance Sport Panel.
- The award usually will be without a fourth year, although it will be taken into account to applicants who are pursuing a 4 year program (including Foundation) and those pursuing part time and/or postgraduate program.
- It will not give the award to the person who will be forced to re-write an entire year except where you have full mitigating circumstances on all the re-write credits. Additional details on the curbing of situations are in the Academic Handbook.
- An application will be required each year (the form should be provided by the Head of Performance Sport).
- Individuals studying in franchise colleges do not qualify to receive this award. The college can be contacted to talk about the availability of bursaries and scholarships.
- You are not entitled to the Elite Sport Scholar award and receive the Postgraduate Scholarship at the same time.
- The remuneration package will be developed so as to help students realize their potential in their preferred sport.
- The panel that will be used to award the scholarship will consist of the Head of Performance Sport, Students Union Sports Manager, and an academic member of staff.

In order to avail Elite Sport Scholar Award, please follow the following application procedure.

(2) Forwarding it to the Head of Performance Sport along with evidence of performance standards and contact information of the coach so that it can be recommended to request the same.
Note: You will be automatically notified by email. Unless you get this notification, then contact scholarship@cardiffmet.ac.uk as soon as possible so that we can acknowledge this. You will then be given the confirmation that you are eligible, by meeting the Terms and Conditions.
The last verification of award receipt will be done after assessments have been performed and before commencing your course.
